92 students were conferred with various undergraduate degrees and certificates at the colorful ceremony. Degrees were awarded to 12 students graduating with Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and a further 32 students graduating with Bachelors degree in ICT. For both academic programs, this was their first batch of graduates. Forty eight students were also awarded certificates. This was the biggest number of graduates in the history of ECUSTA so far, which is also an indication that the number of students is increasing over time and that the University is taking off and growing gradually.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Rev. Abba Tekle Mekonnen, President of ECUSTA, thanked the dean and teaching staff of Mary Help College in Zway for their untiring effort to thoroughly prepare their first batch of students graduating with degrees in ICT. He was also grateful to the coordinator and teachers of the Capuchin Franciscan Research and Retreat Center in Gulele for their hard work in research and training. He encouraged all the graduates to apply the knowledge and skills that they had acquired during their years of study at ECUSTA and its affiliated campuses. He further urged all the graduates to make a positive difference in whatever circumstances they encounter.

The President of the University also invited the graduates to be good ambassadors of their respective higher learning institutions. Finally, he hoped that ECUSTA would continue to provide both quality and holistic education and promote excellence for the good of the society.
